David Choi

To continue the trend of Davids and people with similar names, I will write shortly about David Choi. I found this David Choi by accident when I was looking for the artist I just wrote about. It is an interesting site, a square breaks up into little square and as you hover over them they represent different projects by David Choi. When you click on the squares, they actually go to his projects and they are all flash html sites and ads. It is basically a portfolio that everyone can go and visit. His work has become his art also portfolios use to be printed and taken to your potential job. Now portfolios are online and are available to become more than just portfolios, they become an experience. They allow people to follow certain artists and creators of the sites. It creates a central place for people to follow the artists and it allows us to see a piece of their minds. It allows us to give credit where credit is due and advertisements and pictures are not just by anonymous people.

David Choe

I discovered David Choe awhile back when I picked up his book at my friend's house. I never knew the guys name till I found his art online one day, his art is distinguishable. I knew he was the author of the book that I had seen around ten years ago and I was right. This guy has only drawn two books and he is a graffitti artist so he would be hard to find without the internet. He has done some guerilla art and he has painted on sneakers to canvas. He has created commericials for corporations and he has also made art in prison for getting arrested while doing one of his guerilla art projects.
His art is pretty unique and the variety of what he paints ranges. His art has to be seen and felt to be experienced. It is not something that I can explain or put on paper. I think his art is unique and abstract, it shows a variety of his interests and he demonstrates it well. I think the internet has allowed his following to grow and become something that everyone can appreciate and enjoy. It has been able to out grow its original audience. Last but not least, it looks great.

Protecting Children from the Internet

The internet today has become a dangerous place for children. Children can be exposed to a lot of things and may be harassed by others. Now companies are trying to protect and limit the amount children are exposed to with toys. The toys are basically shortcut keys to make sure kids use the toy. If a kid is given a keyboard, then he or she has unlimited possibilites but if you limit it by giving him or her access to only certain things than he or she is forced to pick among their choices. The toys limit a child's freedom but the internet may expose content that children should not be exposed to. It allows parents to know that their children are not witnessing things that they believe that the children are not ready for. The toys would allow children to feel like they are apart of the "adult" world and it will allow them to access what they want without the hassle, it is also a toy so kids can have fun with the devices.

13 Unique Computer Keyboards

These keyboards are all for different uses, they were created to change something that has become so standard. Most of the designs defy conventional design and are unique in every way. Most of the designs are amazing to look at but, the most simple yet distinguishable keyboard is the keyboard is the one with no letters on them. The keyboard is developed to cause your brain to adapt and memorize where the keys are.
The other keyboards are weird looking but supposedly they are great devices. The virtual keyboard is cool because it is capable of being more than keyboard and it is able to adapt to any surface. All these designs are amazing but what the future holds is promising, maybe soon we won't even have to type or draw and our minds and machines will work together.

Body, Space, and Technology

I went through the website and I saw all the performances under volume seven. I saw the videos and I think they summed up what the internet is about these days. There was a video of Quake 3 and how people were playing online. I think this helps to explain what the internet has become because it demonstrates how people from different places and times can be playing the same game. People meet in a virtual environment to play the game and to have fun. Than you see another videos and they just show how a person is living. It shows footage of a dog and a owner traveling in a car and a footprint filled with water. It just shows everyday life and this view of other lives would not be able to be seen without the internet. The internet helps to connect more people and it allows people to see different perspectives. Yet like Quake 3, it connects people together and allows people to be at the same place at the same time. The two videos of the setup performances also allow the same phenomenon to happen yet the two performances were prepared for. The two set up performances allows more people to view the show, most people would never get to experiences anything like this unless the internet existed. The internet allows people to explore and be amazed by experimental art. It helps to establish a new network and new space to find and enjoy new things.
